The Haul | Boots & Superdrug

So I've got a quick haul today and as usual I ended up getting more than I needed! I seriously think I have a problem with lipsticks... Is there such a thing as lipstick addicts anonymous? LAA? Anyway.. On with the haul!

Products - Garnier Moisture Match Shine Be Gone (£2.98 in Superdrug) // Rimmel Scandaleyes Lycra Flex Mascara (free when you spend £10 or over on Rimmel products in Boots) // Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation (£7.99 in Superdrug) // Rimmel Accelerator Endless Mascara (£7.99) // Rimmel Kate Lasting Finish Lipstick in 08 (£5.49) //

Here I am wearing the aforementioned Rimmel Lippy and I'm clearly soo happy about it! Excuse the shine ball face... The hue is lovely and natural but kind of dark; perfect for every day.

Praise the lord for Kate Moss and her collaboration with Rimmel though! Her lipsticks, in my opinion, are pretty much the perfect lipsticks. Bold statement I know, but they're just so darn great.

I may do further in depth reviews of these depending on how I get on with them. Or if you have any suggestions please feel free to comment below!

The Battle | Clinique vs. Revlon

I've been a fan of the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains for a while now and love all of the shades so I never felt the need to venture outside of the Revlon bubble for anything similar to a moisturing, pigmented, long lasting lip product in crayon style packaging. I was never tempted by all of the so called dupes on the market, especially since most of them were double the price of Revlon's.

That was until I was in the airport waiting for my flight back home suffering from some serious post holiday blues... Enter Clinique Chubby Stick Intense.

When purchasing I went for a colour I didn't already have in my Revlon collection (to try and justify yet another lip product purchase!) and after a lot of umming and ahhing and a hand filled with swatches I settled on Heftiest Hibiscus; a gorgeous orange with hints of red.

It's been plastered all over the beauty world that the Revlon Balm Stains are dupes of the original Clinique Chubby Sticks and so I thought I would put the Intense version to the test of good ol' Revlon to see which one comes out on top...

Round One - Packaging: The packaging of these are very similar however I prefer the Clinique packaging. The silver lid gives it that luxurious edge and the writing hasn't worn off yet, like my Balm Stains have... Both are easy to apply with the crayon- style shape making it extra simple.

Round Two - Formulation: I would say the Clinique Chubby Sticks Intense are more pigmented than their rivals, however that's not to say the Balm Stains don't offer a great colour payoff. The high end version presents a more creamy, colourful option. You can definitely tell Heftiest Hibiscus isn't from the drug store. In terms of lasting power Revlon take this one, and so they should; they've named them Balm Stains. I think it's perhaps the creaminess of the Chubby Sticks that enhance the likeliness of the product leaving your lips after a few hours. Both offer a decent amount of moisture to your lips but I don't really notice a massive difference after using either of them.

Round Three - Scent: The Balm Stains smell of mint. The Chubby Sticks smell of nothing. Both I'm happy with, this really comes down to personal preference as I know the mint fragrance won't be for everyone.

Round Four -  Price: The highstreet offering will leave you £7.99 down whereas the high-end version will take £17 out of your pocket. If you love to splash out then the Clinique Chubby Sticks Intense are worth it. Although at £9 cheaper the Revlon Balm stains will not disappoint.

And the winner is... Revlon! Long lasting, great pigmentation, nice array of colours & in terms of value for money you may as well go for the Balm Stains. However I do love my Clinique Chubby Stick Intense dearly.

I'm sure in both collections you'll find many colours to suit your preference so it really just comes down to whether your prefer pigmentation over lasting power, or scent over no scent, or £17 over £7.99. They are both excellent products.

Let me know what you think of the Chubby Sticks Intense/Balm Stains!

The OOTD | Yellow and Black

Top - I know since the photos are pretty bad quality you can't really see the detail of the top, however since I can't find a photo online you're just going to have to use your imagination! As you can tell it's a gorgeous bright yellow which adds that je ne sais quoi to a plain get up. The short sleeves are yellow lace which I love; it's the simple details in life. It's from H&M but it's not available anymore.

Jeans - I pretty much live in skinny jeans especially those of the black variety. These are Topshop's Jamie Jeans and are my fave style from Topshop, I'm not really a fan of the Leigh jeans as I find them to be too jegging like.

Shoes - Every pair of shoes seem to hate my feet and pretty much destroy them and this pair are no exception. Saying that though I've managed to combat this problem by bandaging my feet in plasters as these shoes are that worth it. Red Herring at Debenhams are to thank for these lovelies and at the moment there's 30% off! Since you can't see the detail of the shoes from my pictures I've inserted a clearer image, taken from the Debenhams website.

Accessories - Necklace from Topshop. Watch from Urban Outfitters. Gold bracelet from Topshop. Black bracelet from a shop in Rhodes. Bag from Next.

The Collection | Revlon's Top Three

Once I find one amazing thing from one brand I will no doubt go back to said brand again and again; I like to stick to what I know. Now, I have a few brands which I think are fab all round so I thought I would start a series where I share my top three products (for the sake of not babbling on about the whole line!) of a particular brand.

First up in the hot seat we have Revlon.

Revlon just never seem to disappoint, from their foundations to their mascaras to their lip products and to their nail varnishes you can't go far wrong. However I've had to whittle it down to my top three which I think are completely worth while products...

PhotoReady Foundation - What I love most about this foundation is how well it matches my skin tone (I have the shade Vanilla). I think they have a relatively good range of colours specifically for you fairer skinned gals out there. This gives a medium coverage and looks extremely natural on the skin, you will not get a fake/cakey look with this!

ColorBurst Lip Butters - Of course I had to include the very much raved about Lip Butters! These have been spoken about soo much so I'm going to keep it short and sweet. The colour range is amazing, there's definitely something for everybody whether you want a your-lips-but-better-shade or something to stop the traffic. Moisturising, amazing colour pay off and shade range - these are a must have for your makeup collection. A personal favourite of mine is Macaroon as it's a nice bold colour suitable for daytime.

Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain - Yet another lip product, it's safe to say I have a weakness... Now these are quite similar to the Lip Butters in that they both provide an excellent colour payoff as well as a decent mositurise. However these last longer and act as more of a stain, hence the name and are less creamy. One thing the Balm Stains have which the Lip Butters don't is the fragrance, upon applying you are greeted with a gorgeous mint scent which kind of makes you feel fresher! Again, there is a nice array of colours with these but personally I love the shade Romantic as it's an extremely easy red lip. Romantic would be perfect for those who tend to stay away from bold lips. It doesn't require the effort of a red lipstick and gives a gorgeous, not too scary, shade of red.

So there you have it, my top three from Revlon!

The Guest Post | Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hour

Rachel here! I have the privilage of being your guest blogger for this post!

I'm going to do a quick review of Maybelline's Colour Tattoo 24hour Cream-Eyeshadow which Rhian actually introduced me to as she bought me a couple for my birthday so I thought this would be fitting as a guest post. If you're familiar with my own blog then you will have seen these pictures before but if not then feast your eyes on some brand new images, oo exciting!

On And On Bronze & Turquoise Forever

Both of them on :)

I went out and bought another one after I tried the ones Rhian got me as I completely fell in love with them. It's called 'Light in Purple' and is a mostly-silver colour with a very lilac tint to it which makes it very pretty in different lights and just so gorgeous. With me being tanned at the moment, from being in America for three weeks, the colour really pops so I'd definitely recommend it for people with dark eyes or tanned skin! It also kinda reminds me of Winter/Christmas with it being quite frosty so I'll most definitely be rocking this during the festive season.

All Three
Summary - Extremely good cream eyeshadows that stay on all day without moving off into the creases of your eyes. Colours are vibrant and easy to build up or stay subtle depending on what you prefer.
You can pick them up for a very reasonable £4.99 at Boots or Superdrug.

The Routine | Morning Skin Care

Heellooo. I am back in England and had an amazing holiday! I'm suffering from some serious holiday blues. Anyway on with the post...

  • When I'm getting ready on a morning I firstly gently cleanse my skin using Soap and Glory's Peaches and Clean cleanser, as opposed to my Soap and Glory Fab Pore Hot Cloth Cleanser as I find it to be too much using it every morning on skin with no make up as well as in the evening. I've heard a few people say if you cleanse your skin well enough in the evening then you won't need to cleanse again in the morning, regardless if that is true or not I still like to wash my face and feel clean however I use a cleanser in which I believe to be gentler. It has a lighter formulation but I have no idea whether it is indeed gentler or not but I like it and it smells of peaches so why not.
  • About once or twice a week I will exfoliate using Soap & Glory's Pulp Friction, which I have already raved about in a previous blog post - here!
  • Then after a shower I always moisturise. Lately in the summer I have been using a moisturising fake tan, personally I don't think you can go wrong with the Garnier Body Summerbody Moisturising Lotion Sun-Kissed Look. If I want a break from the tan then I'll use Giorgio Armani Code Body Lotion which smells delicious. I also like to use Garnier Body Ultimate Beauty Oil which is ridiculously good, for me it's a holy grail product. Also in my Weekday Night Time Routine I mentioned I use a Dove moisturiser but I only really use that if I'm in need of a bit of a pamper; most of my moisturisation (is it a word?) takes place after a shower. I was just concerned that it sounded like I moisturise all the god damn time!
  • Next it's onto the wonderful La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo which I use if I have any pesky spots. Again I have already sang this products' praises here!
  • And now it's time to moisturise my face. Recently I have been loving Soap & Glory Clear Here Moisture Lotion which is great because it targets oily/combination skin, which I have so it works well for me. It also works as a really great make up base which is always a bonus. You can probably tell from this post as well as other posts that I have a bit of an obsession with Soap & Glory products but they are brilliant so hey ho. What can I say? If I find an all round good brand then I'm sticking with it. Although, I do have my eye on a few products from the body shop so that's probably going to be my next brand obsession...
  • Anyway after my skin has been moisturised then that it is pretty much it on the skin care front. I then proceed to style my hair and do my make up etc etc and I may do a hair tutorial sometime in the future. Who knows?

Let me know what products you like to use in the morning and if there are any other posts you'd like me to do :-)

Au Revoir
